Last night was our 1st in the series of Homegrown Cafe performances for 2013. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to make it. We had an incredible time playing and even had a chance to start debuting some new material. In case you missed it Devin Zito recorded the entire show and may have some cuts posted up this week or next so keep an eye out!

We've got alot planned for 2013 even including a trip up to NYC to play the Bowery Electric Feb. 8th! Get you tickets while you can and while our van only seats up to 6 we may be swayed depending upon gas funds to take another vehicle, give us a shout.

Arden Gild Hall!
Hey All,
We just want to say thank you again to the Arden Concert Gild for putting together such an amazing show this past weekend. We had an incredible time performing for a truly incredible audience. Thank you again and in case you missed it heres a little snippet below! Well its been one hell of a year Delaware and we can't thank our fans, friends, family and fellow performers enough! Your very own Hold-Up(mind the hyphen) has been hard at work booking, writing and performing, all so that we can give you an even better 2013. We have at least two new songs on the way, at least 7 incredible high energy performances and possibly some guest appearances that you won't want to miss.
On a side note regarding our fellow performers, we want to say that since we started this group back in 2009 we have seen so much good go down in the local music scene. Groups like New Sweden, The Mad-Sweet Pangs and Spokey Speaky continually show us that to be a musician who is playing local original music, in order to succeed we have to stick together and work as a team. With events like The Pangs-Giving @ World Cafe Live at The Queen and various local shows we see a constant collaboration that is not done solely for profit but for the enjoyment of performing and working as a team to present a new group of songs, voices and arrangements to the world of original music. To all of this we can't say enough " Thank you".
In closing folks, keep an eye on The Hold-Up this year.

So we've reached that time in the year where we are only down to a few shows before we duck into the studio for recording our first Full Length album due out in November! We want to again welcome our new Bass player, Matt Messatazzia and throw out a huge thank you to Bri Vinnette for hopping onto a few of our latest gigs! Thanks also to everyone who has made a point to pick-up our self-titled Ep and if you still want to get your hands on even just a few songs from it, check out the link on our homepage!

Hey All,
As you may or may not know, we are about to undergo some changes. Our original Bass player Aaron Alicea will be leaving us next month to pursue a life in Austin, Texas with the lovely Caroline VanStratton of New Sweden. What Aaron has brought to The Hold-Up is something unique and great. His bass lines have not only improved our sound in the past but in some ways set the bar higher when it comes to really getting the most out of our sound. And while Aaron will definitely be missed we will be going on in his absence, welcoming Matt Messatzzia into the mix. Matt comes to us from another local group "Boomslang", he also for the past month has been filling in with the Universal Funk Order. Matt's talents have so far proven to be quite an addition to our group and we are very happy to have him. We've also begun featuring the lovely Bri Vinette from Fat Daddy Has Been on Saxaphone.
Friday July 27th @ Kelly's Logan House will be our final show with Aaron as we join New Sweden in bidding our soon to be former band mates farewell. Bri Vinette joins us on the Sax and last but not least, we are finally Releasing our Debut self-titled EP both physically and soon to be on iTunes and Amazon! So dont forget your wallet, just because the show is free! I mean you're still going to need a drink.
So to re-cap, Old members farewell, New Members Welcomed, Our Ep is out! and July 27th @ Kellly's Logan House is where its all going down.
